Preschool Supply List
We have been working so hard this summer, that it is hard to believe the time is almost here to welcome our Grizzlies back! Whether it be in person every day for our PK-2 students, hybrid scheduling for our 3rd-5th Grades, or if you chose 100% online instruction for your child, we are doing everything we can to make this year the best year that we possibly can for our students!
Many of you have questions, I am sure. A great resource for finding answers is the RCPS Parent Booklet found at this link: Parent Start of School Booklet 2020-2021
Want to know what social distancing will look like for our in-person students? Here is a link that shows a video that you can share with your child: Student Do's and Don'ts Video
NEW Morning Time Car Rider Drop Off procedure - We will have many more car riders than usual this year, and we are being asked to temperature check our students when they arrive as a preventative screening due to COVID concerns about the spread of the virus. Knowing how long our car rider line becomes in a normal year, this has prompted us to try to keep us from backing up all the way to Main Street with that line.
Therefore, we will do a couple of things to help with this issue.
1. We will start our car rider drop offs at 7:15 to give us more time before the tardy bell at 7:45.
2. We will have ALL car riders go up to the Middle School Parking lot first, before turning into our car rider drop area. This means that in the mornings, there will be no left turns into our car rider drop area. This will be a big change. If you only have GES students to drop off, then you will simply turn into the first row of parking you come to at the middle school, turn around to come back to GES. Then, you will turn into our car rider loop by making a right turn. If you are dropping both a middle school child and an elementary child, you will drop off your middle school child first. Then, come down to drop off your elementary child. In this way, there will almost be NO Left turns coming out of our car rider area. The only people who would need to turn left leaving our car rider area will be middle school staff members with children at GES. Our afternoon car rider pickup will be the exact same as usual, as we cannot block the middle school drive in the afternoon, as they do not dismiss the same time we will dismiss. Do you have a future Kindergarten student for the 2020-21 school year? We have enrollment packets for Kindergarten in our lobby area. You can step just inside the door, pick a packet up, fill out the forms, and return them on another day. The sooner you enroll the better! We look forward to having your little one join us next year for Kindergarten!
Do you have medicine in our Nurse's office still? You can stop by Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 4:00 to pick those up in our office as well. You will need to come into the office to sign the medicine out when you pick them up.
