The public is invited to review the materials samples sent in by the various publishers through the end of April and into early May if need be.  If online access is needed, we will try to arrange for it with the individual publishers.  To review materials, the individual(s) need to make an appointment with Brian Weeks by emailing him at or calling 540.562.3982.

When coming to the building, Covid-19 safety precautions should be followed including:

    • Wear a mask covering nose and mouth at all times
    • Wear rubber gloves (provided if you do not have any)
    • Stay 6 feet apart
    • Additional precautions posted

The public is welcome to comment regarding textbook adoption and materials to the instructional staff and school board by email (above) or submitting a written comment to Brian Weeks, Textbook Manager at 5937 Cove Rd. Roanoke, VA 24019 by no later than May 10th, 2021.

According to state guidelines, school districts must adopt textbooks and instructional materials, but do not have to purchase.  RCPS plans to purchase materials on a prioritized schedule, as funds allow.
