The Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Departments will offer vaccination opportunities for children in need of immunizations required for school attendance. Please find the schedule listed below. Please contact your local health department office at one of the numbers listed to schedule an appointment or to get more information. As new information about clinics is made available, this page will be updated.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and have an up-to-date vaccination record with them. Please bring any insurance cards for your child(ren). Vaccines required for school attendance are available at no cost to you.

Back to school vaccination clinics
State law requires rising 7th graders to meet the Tdap, HPV and Meningococcal ACWY vaccination requirement prior to entering 7th grade.
The Health Department is holding vaccination clinics at the following locations:
- June 12: Northside Middle School - Pope Gym - 4-6 p.m.
- June 14: Cave Spring Middle School - Cafeteria - 4-6 p.m.
- June 15: William Byrd Middle School - Cafeteria - 4-6 pm.
You may attend any of these clinics. The Vinton and Salem Health Departments will also be providing vaccines by appointment throughout the summer. The schedule can be found on the school district webpage under Departments- Heath Services. You can also contact the health department directly.
Please bring your student's vaccine record and your insurance card. If you are attending one of the vaccine clinics at the schools, please print and fill out the attached consent form and bring it with you to the clinic to save time. A parent or legal guardian must be with the student at the clinics.
