Part Time Instruction

Part-time RCPSOnline Academy –

Any Roanoke County Public Schools student may take up to two online courses of his or her choice through RCPSOnline Academy. As long as the online courses are part of the eight possible credits in a student's schedule and are registered for by the deadline, there are no costs for these courses.   

Students may take an online course over and above the eight credits. Tuition for extra courses is $400 each.

Registration for free individual online course(s) is through a student's school counselor and must take place during the open registration period for the upcoming school year. Students may add individual courses after the open registration period for $400 each. See your student's school counselor for details.

During the school year, students may request a schedule change and add an online class. Tuition is required.

No refunds will be granted after the first day of class.

All RCPSOnline Academy students are expected to meet academic pacing and performance expectations during the first three weeks of either semester. Those not meeting expectations semester 1 may be removed from the Academy and returned to the base school for face-to-face instruction. Those not meeting expectations semester 2 may be removed from the Academy or returned to the base school to complete their online courses under supervision.
