Mrs. Jill Lane
Jill Lane, current principal at Garden City Elem. in Roanoke City, has been named the new principal at Mt. Pleasant Elem. Lane joins RCPS with 17 years of administrative experience and 27 years of experience in education. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Radford University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Virginia.
A Message From the New Principal:
My name is Jill Lane, and it is my pleasure and honor to introduce myself to you all as Principal of Mount Pleasant Elementary. I am excited to join this school community and support our teachers, our students, and our families.
This is the start of my 28th year in education, 17 of which have been in administration. Most recently, I was the principal at Garden City Elementary, our neighboring school in the city. However, I am elated to be back at Mt. Pleasant Elementary where I attended and my children attended. I know this is a fabulous school and community.
As the principal of Mount Pleasant, it is my vision to continue an environment where every child has meaningful access to an education system that fully understands and is willing to address their cultural, physical, social, emotional and academic needs. I will continue to support our students in achieving academic success by building positive relationships and holding them to high academic and behavioral expectations.
