Ms. Beth Grim - Principal

I am honored to be back in the Burlington community. It is a privilege to be the principal and serve our students and the entire BES community. I have been working in the educational field for 26 years, 20 of which have been for Roanoke County Schools. I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Radford University. I earned my education specialist degree at Virginia Tech.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Daylie, who is a Sophomore in high school, my son, Jake, who is a Senior at Virginia Tech, my nephew, Dakota, and my partner, Jeff, who is a police officer in Staunton, Virginia. I also enjoy traveling and visiting new and exciting places.

I am happiest when lively children and playful dogs surround me. Both of which help to keep me young at heart.

Mr. Wes Warner - Assistant Principal

I can't think of a better place to begin my administrative career than Burlington Elementary School.  The staff and community support make BES a wonderful place to mold our children into happy and successful students.

I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Emory and Henry College and graduate degrees from Old Dominion University and Radford University.  Before coming to Burlington I served children as a special education teacher and behavior specialist for seventeen years.

I have a strong passion for elementary education.  Nowhere else can educators have such a tremendous and positive impact on the social, emotional and educational development of children.  Our goal of creating and maintaining a safe and nurturing school environment is the cornerstone of that development.

In my other life I have been married to my wife, Carla, for twenty-two years and our son, Cameron, is a Freshman at Eastern Tennessee State University.  I enjoy golfing with Cameron, VT Football, Duke Basketball and playing with my 125 pound Great Dane appropriately named Kitty.
