Shelley Clemons was elected to serve on the Roanoke County School Board for the Cave Spring District in 2023. She is the third woman elected to the Roanoke County School Board and is dedicated to serving our schools and providing the highest quality education for our students.
Shelley is a native to the Roanoke Valley, graduating from Patrick Henry High School. She went on to graduate with Distinction from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Shelley then returned to the area where she has worked and volunteered for the last 24 years.
Shelley worked as a field director for a local nonprofit agency for a number of years, where she was focused on membership, training, and providing programs for area youth. Shelley then moved to the financial industry where she has continued her career for the last 18 years.
Shelley and her husband have two children who attend Roanoke County Public Schools. She has served in our schools for the last 11 years, most of those years as PTA/PTO president. Being involved in our schools, providing programs for our students, and recognizing our school staff has been one of her most rewarding experiences.
Shelley is committed to ensuring safe schools, focusing on quality in education, and preparing our students for their futures. She will also exercise fiscal responsibility in management of the budget and capital improvements.
Shelley believes education is of the greatest importance to both our children and our community. She looks forward to continuing to serve our schools as a member of our school board.
