Roanoke County Public Schools has announced it is participating in the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program as part of a food assistance plan approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) that is being implemented statewide by the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) and the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).
P-EBT Benefits for 2021-2022 School Year:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) have announced that P-EBT benefits for the 2021-2022 school year are still being determined. More information will be communicated upon USDA's approval of Virginia's P-EBT plan.
Summer 2021 P-EBT Benefits
VDOE and VDSS have announced summer P-EBT benefits that will be issued as a one-time, lump sum benefit of $375 on August 25, 2021 to all children who qualified for free or reduced-price meals during the 2020-2021 school year. Please see the frequently asked questions document for more information.
