Final Newsletter for 2018-2019

Thank you for reading our last newsletter of the 2018-19 school year.  By the time you read this, we will have come down to the final preparations for SOL testing.  This newsletter contains important information concerning end-of-year events and the closing of school, so please note all of the important dates for March, April and May.

 

SOL—Below are the probable SOL Test Dates

March 19-20, 2019:               Grades 8 Writing SOL Test (M/C 19th & Essay 20th)
May 7-10, 2019:                    Grades 6-8 Reading & Math SOL Test, Science 8 and Civics
** All make up testing & expedited retake tests will occur after initial testing window opens and must be                                                                                                                                              concluded within 3 weeks**

 

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

May 22 is the last day of school for students.

 

PTA Meeting

The last PTA meeting will be April 30th at 6pm.  This meeting will recognize 8th grade students for their achievement at NMS.  This meeting will be followed by our band’s final performance at 7pm.

 

Roanoke County School Calendar 2018-19

The Roanoke County School Calendar can be seen on the NMS website. 

Since May will be a very busy month, please make certain you keep the calendar in a safe place.  Should you have any questions, you may contact the school.  For your convenience, we keep up-to-the-minute information on the website.  Thank you for the many positive interactions this year and the overwhelming support as we partner to make a positive learning environment for our children.

In closing, we want Northside Middle School to be a place where students are happy, safe, and have the ability to receive an education that will help them pursue their dreams. Thank you for your continued support and help in educating our children. We are truly blessed with such outstanding and caring students, parents, teachers, support staff, and community members.
