- FCCLA will meet in Mrs. Dunn's room 102 on Thursday October 21st at 7:45 am. Come check us out and help make plans for this school year.
- Good luck to our competition cheer team as they travel to Staunton River tonight to compete at the Blue Ridge District Championships. The competition begins at 6:00 pm and Byrd is scheduled to take the mat at 6:30 pm. Please come out on Wednesday night and support our team as they look to defend their Blue Ridge District title!
- Attention Seniors: The Jostens representatives will be at school on Thursday October 21st and Friday October 22nd to assist you with your Graduation order. Girls will order October 21st and Guys will order October 22nd. Orders will be taken during ALL lunches. All seniors need to order their cap, gown and other graduation items on this day. A $75 deposit is requested to place an order. Extra Graduation packets are available in the front office.
- Attention all student and faculty artists, writers, musicians and photographers: Mrs. Acker is currently accepting submissions for the art and literary magazine, Sketches. She is looking for short stories, poetry, photography, art, musical composition, etc. Please bring any submissions to Mrs. Acker in LC13 or email them to cacker@rcps.us
- Attention students who are enrolled in any AP classes. If you have signed up to take any AP tests, the payment deadline is Friday, October 29th. Payment can be made via cash, check, or MySchoolBucks. Please see Mrs. Francis or Mrs. Taylor with any questions.
- Attention seniors: Prestige has announced that the studio will be open all day for appointments on Election Day, Nov 2nd, 9 AM until 5 PM. You will need to visit Prestige online to schedule a session for that day and there is a sitting fee of $15 at the studio:

A sign up sheet will be available soon in English classes or sign up with Mrs. Acker in LC 13. There is no fee to have your picture taken at the school. - All girls wanting to to try out for the Ladies Basketball team: The open Gyms this week are Tuesday October 19th and Thursday October 21st at 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm both days. Tryouts will begin on November 8th. You must have a valid physical on file before attending. Any questions, see Coach Bush in the front of school at the drop off lane before 8:15 in the mornings.
- It's LEO Club time! LEO Club will meet this Thursday after school in Room 118. Please bring a bag of Halloween candy! Please see Mrs. Stover with any questions. See you on Thursday.
- Coach Bush will be speaking at FCA this Thursday at 7:45 in room 207. Fields of Faith will be at Northside football stadium Sunday October 24 from 6-8 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Join us for worship and great speakers.
- Liberty University is scheduled to be here THis Friday October 22nd at 10:30 am in the auditorium. Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to sign up in the College and Career Center to attend.
- WBHS Ham Radio is participating in the October School Club Round-Up. Chase Overstreet is operating digital. Allison Ward is logging contacts. Payton Ramsey and Isaiah Gediek are operating voice. Our current score is 12,838. We have talked with operators in 30 states, 12 schools and 7 different countiries.
- Congratulations to our Smash Brothers team for their win last night against Kecoughton High School.
- Congratulations to our SMITE team for their win last night against Blackford High School.
- Good luck to our Rocket League team as they go up against Hidden High School tonight.
- Knitting and Crocheting Club will hold it's next meeting on Monday November 1st. The meeting will be in Learning Cottage 15 from 3:30- 4:30 pm. Bring a project of your own or get in touch with Mrs. Scales in advance for supplies to get started.
- Habitat for Humanity meeting at 7:45 am in Royal's room 118 Friday morning.
- Congratulations to the 2021 Black Swan yearbook staff for placing in the Trophy Division and earning a Superior Rating in VHSL State Competition. The Trophy Division is the highest honor awarded in the state media competition.
