Hogan named executive director of elementary instruction
The Roanoke County School Board has named Stephanie Hogan as the new executive director of elementary instruction, effective July 1.
Hogan, a William Byrd High School graduate, has a long history of teaching and administrative experience. She began teaching at various schools in Roanoke City in 1991. In 2002, she became the assistant principal at Breckenridge Middle School and was named principal at Stonewall Jackson Middle School a year later. In 2011, she served as principal at James Madison Middle School and in 2014, Hogan was named the assistant superintendent for teaching and learning for Roanoke City Public Schools. In 2016, Hogan accepted a position as director of exceptional children services with Danville City Public Schools. In 2017, she joined Roanoke County Public Schools as the principal at Glen Cove Elementary School.
Hogan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Roanoke College. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Educational Specialist’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.
“Stephanie has a great deal of experience both in the classroom and as an administrator,” said Dr. Ken Nicely, superintendent of Roanoke County Public Schools. “I’m pleased she will bring that expertise to the central office as we continue to work to help our students learn and grow,” Dr. Nicely said.
